This is a loose collection of songs that really fits into two categories: those I recorded with a borrowed flange pedal and those of the folk rock variety. All of these songs were recorded in my basement on my trusty Tascam 4 track tape recorder except for the drums on "Garden of Love" which was played in a friend's basement. This particular number was built around a poem by William Blake.
It was during a short stay in the town of Walla Walla the previous winter and spring when I picked up a volume of Blake's poetry that my friend Jeff had lying around and began playing a guitar riff over the words. To this day it is still my favorite guitar melody that I have composed.
This album also features the song "Iowa" which I wrote in Missoula, Mt and was the first "country" song I ever attempted. Another highlight is the bass guitar which was kindly added by my sister, Sara after much insistance and no direction on my part. Yet, she came up with parts I never could have imagined and actually made it rock! Turn it up man!
